Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they move loads. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to move unstable or tall loads using these machinery. A rider could be the perfect answer if you are looking for an inexpensive method for transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the best option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specifically designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles that could work in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely handy pieces of machinery in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
