Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck offering versatility and great height. The crane, or arm, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom enables the person utilizing it to maintain a high degree of control while raising the cargo to great heights. Standard forklifts can not move the load towards and away from the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally used in construction and agriculture. It is better for applications where greater lift and control is necessary.
In situations requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments referred to as forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that enable the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when lifting a cargo. It is available with a backrest which protects the loads from damage.
A sleep sheet forklift would usually use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This type of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A man basket is a lift platform designed specially to lift personnel. The basket attaches to the forks on the forklift, held in with a strap or chain that is to be directly secured to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
