When there are accidents related to forklifts, both the business and the individual will suffer. There are numerous reasons why employers must take steps to minimize the risk. Among the biggest reasons is to avoid risk of lawsuits if somebody is injured. Secondly, accidents cut down on working time. Third, goods and property could be damaged during accidents. The majority of mishaps are attributed to employees who are not trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that staff who are utilizing the forklift are trained in risks and safety. Never let anybody on a forklift who isn't trained to utilize the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a place which is visible all forklift safety procedures.
Instead of going through training because staff are required to, they must have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer should help employees understand the importance of correct training. Let them understand that they can injure or kill not just themselves, but other people, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that all your staff go through training seriously.
