Change an LPG Cylinder

Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many applications. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that are able to be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.



When changing out an LP cylinder, you should really be careful so as to avoid possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be certain to wear the appropriate safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
