How to Charge a Scissor Lift
There is a great ease when utilizing a scissor lift, as the convenience of working and the lift basket's safety gives peace of mind when attempting to carry out tasks that would have otherwise required working off the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this particular machine make it the best option for performing tasks from heights.
Nearly all scissor lifts are operated by batteries that are internally mounted in the lift's base. These batteries need to be charged following a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple job to charge the batteries. This could be carried out without any particular tools or equipment and requires no heavy labor.
The equipment has to be positioned next to an electrical output so as to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging place should also be in a well-ventilated area. After that, in order to avoid another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button located in the lift basket, near the charger or the control box. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Often, models that are older would have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.
The AC extension cord should next be plugged into the charger. Be sure to charge in a well ventilated area and plug the cord into an electrical outlet. In order to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger can potentially take place.
