Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescoping booms lifts are designed to mount a work bucket on an extendable, straight arm that is located on a rotating turntable. Normally, telescoping boom lifts are used for jobs which need reaching at maximum height, exceeding other types of lifts. Like for instance, employees can perform exterior renovations or repairs on buildings of medium height but using these lifts as opposed to having the extra work of setting up an outside elevator or a pulley system.
The boom lift is only designed to hold a single person. These buckets are more suitable to particular jobs such as electrical repair, rather than window washing or general maintenance. These lifts are offered with both outdoor and indoor tires and are available in electric and gas configurations.
Scissor Lifts
Underneath the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machinery gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. As these units should be directly positioned under the work location, these units are way more limited in their use compared to boom lifts.
Scissor lifts do, on the other hand, provide bigger platforms which allow the operator controlling the lift to access a larger work surface once the lift is raised. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of a concern with these types of equipment, because they have to sit on flat ground in order to be utilized. Scissor lifts are great for being used for cladding or window installation, because they provide the workers with the desired mobility; they are also a great alternative for exterior repairs or window cleaning applications.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Cherry pickers, boom trucks and bucket trucks each refer to the class a kind of utility vehicle used specially for vertical work. Usually, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the driver sits and controls the machine. There is a bucket for where the worker could stand as well as a winch for carrying and an actuator arm for lifting the boom.
Boom trucks take personnel to heights that would usually be inaccessible. The function of cranes is to raise heavy materials or equipment from one place to another. There are different types of cranes which could perform a variety of purposes. Both of these different kinds of machinery excel at various jobs and are great for certain applications and accomplishing particular jobs.
